    Gender: Male

    Age: 5 years

    Breed: Mixed Breed (Large)

Rusty Rusty is a loyal, playful dog who has been patiently waiting for the right person to find him. Once you're part of his circle, his sweet and silly personality really comes out—he's even been known to greet his favorite people proudly carrying a toy or towel! Rusty can take a little time to feel comfortable with new people. He tends to connect most easily with calm, confident people who are experienced with dogs and allow him to build trust at his own pace. Once that trust is there, you'll see a completely different side of Rusty. Rusty thrives with structure and consistency and can be sensitive to loud noises and busy environments. He needs to be the only dog in the home and is most comfortable when given appropriate space from other dogs. With a confident, experienced handler, Rusty can enjoy walks while calmly passing other dogs at a comfortable distance. Rusty also has luxating patellas, which our team is happy to discuss with potential adopters. Rusty isn't looking for everyone—he's looking for his person. Someone who understands him, appreciates the relationship that comes from earning a dog's trust, and is ready to give a long-waiting dog the home he's been hoping for.

    Wingstop Winston 24-7051

    Gender: Male

    Age: 6 years, 9 months

    Breed: Mixed Breed (Large)

Winston is a bold, loyal dog who forms deep bonds with his people. Once he trusts you, he’s affectionate, engaged, and fully invested in his relationship with you. He enjoys interaction, play, and being part of his person’s world—and he thrives with someone who values connection, structure, and consistency. Winston can be cautious with unfamiliar people and needs time and space to feel comfortable. He does best with calm, respectful introductions and handlers who understand that trust is earned. When given appropriate space, he recovers well from stressful situations and is able to settle. He is best suited for an adult-only home with an adopter who is patient, confident, and dog-savvy. Winston is dog selective and does not enjoy every dog he meets. He is not a good match for homes with male dogs. With a proper meet-and-greet and slow introductions, he may be able to live with a compatible female dog, but this would need to be evaluated carefully. He does best when his social circle is small and thoughtfully managed. Winston is high-energy during play and activity but is capable of settling afterward. He is very food-motivated and already knows how to sit well, making him a great candidate for continued positive-reinforcement training. He will benefit from ongoing work on leash manners, impulse control, and confidence-building around unfamiliar handling. Winston is looking for a committed adopter who understands that strong personalities come with strong loyalty. In the right home—one that offers patience, boundaries, and clear communication—Winston will be a deeply devoted companion with a lot of heart to give. Winston is currently part of our behavior program, and adopters will not be navigating this alone. If someone chooses to welcome Winston into their home, ongoing support is available, including an at home-evaluation and multiple follow-up training sessions to help set both Winston and his adopters up for success.

    Gender: Female

    Age: 2 years, 8 months

    Breed: Mixed Breed (Medium)

Nala is an energetic, playful dog whose joy comes from movement, games, and interaction. Play is her love language, and she thrives with people who enjoy being active with their dog—whether that’s tossing toys, going for walks, or letting her explore the world through her nose. Nala enjoys the company of most other dogs and is social by nature, but her play style can be intense. She likes to engage with toys and may show excitement or vocalization during play, especially when toys are involved. She benefits from structured play, supervision, and clear guidance to help her keep interactions positive and appropriate. With people, Nala is not immediately cuddly, but she builds connection through shared activities. She loves going for walks and especially enjoys sniffing and exploring her surroundings, which helps her stay mentally satisfied and balanced. Nala can struggle with excitement and frustration during transitions, particularly when play or walks are ending. Nala is looking for an active, engaged adopter who understands that high-energy dogs need both physical outlets and mental enrichment. In the right home—one that embraces play, structure, and training—Nala will be a fun, lively companion with a big personality.

He may need a little time to warm up to someone new, but once he begins to trust you, his affectionate side starts to shine. Harry prefers to keep all four paws on the ground or two paws on you but does not enjoy being picked up.
